My name is Jessica and I must tell you about the miracle of Chiropractic Care. About a year ago I was a true skeptic. I believed in the corrupt circle of medicine and pain relievers. One day I could not get to sleep and nothing was helping. It was pain - crippling pain - in my back, legs, chest, and neck. The pain was so bad I could barely breathe. It was the first time I'd experienced this, and I was terrified.
Now, I know what you're thinking.... Take ADVIL!! Well, with the aches and pains I had been living with for the past 5 years, Advil and I were very close friends. So close, it wasn't cutting it anymore. And in this moment I could only think to myself "I have to go to the ER, nothing else is going to work, there must be something extremely wrong with me." At 7:30 am, after a sleepless night, I had had enough and , yes.... I called my mom! When she saw the agony I was in, she got me ready to go to the hospital. At the same time my roommate woke up and and as she had been telling me for years I needed more than a temporary fix. I needed a chiropractor. And she knew just the one for the job - Dr. Sweet. It's not that I didn't think chiropractors work for some people, it was the fear of a stranger moving my bones and trusting him not to break them. Knowing that other doctors hadn't helped me before, and suffering immense pain, I hesitantly went.
When I arrived I was immediately welcomed by Dee Jay's motherly voice, and Dr. Sweet's caring hands. I was given hope in Dr. Sweet's diagnosis that I had several subluxations and it was correctable! I never believed until the good doctor adjusted me for the first time in my life. I entered his office as a 28-year-old cripple and left comforted and walking on my own; just a little sore from the neglect of the people I had trusted to heal me - my old doctors. Since this experience, Advil and I are a thing of the past! And with continued adjustments from Dr. Sweet and my own life changes, I am happy to say I have not taken any pain medications since this wonderful family came into my life. There are not enough thank yous that I could give to Chiropractic Care, they are now and will be forever family to me. I am forever grateful.

I had suffered from disabling pain in my back and shoulders for years, and by 2001 I was in a state of constant pain that affected every area of my life. I couldn't sleep for more than 45 minutes at a time because of pain which would wake me and make me get up and kneel on the floor with my upper body on the couch until the pain lessened enough to allow me to lie down again for another short period of rest. I took huge doses of both prescription and non-prescription Ibuprofen, and other pain medications daily, just trying to get enough relief to be able to sleep. At a local pastors' event when I was in visible pain, another pastor and his wife told me about Dr. Sweet and his remarkable ministry in Petaluma.
They told be about his practice and that I need Chiropractic Care. Being open-minded, I said, "I don't believe in chiropractic..." My friends got me in between them and emphatically told me "you need to try this- it works", so I called and made my first appointment with Dr. Sweet the following Monday. I was enrolled in the back clinic at Kaiser at the time seeing one of their Physical Therapists, and I had an appointment there the same day as my first one with Dr. Sweet. So when I saw that I was running late getting back to Petaluma, I called Dr. Sweet's office to say that I wouldn't be able to make my appointment that day ("saved by the 101 traffic!" I thought). Fortunately, Dr. Sweet's chiropractic assistant, who answered the phone, was having none of my excuses... "we are here until 6pm, you can come later" she said. I surrendered- after all, I had told Pat and Judy (the pastor and his wife) that I would go see him, so I showed up for my appointment, however reluctantly.
That day in March 2001, Dr. Sweet ran his knowledgeable hands over my aching back, with his fingers knowing exactly where I hurt, without me saying a word. He did what he does, and then asked me to come back two more times that week. I remember that Saturday night, after my third adjustment, because for the first time in a really long time, I slept - really slept - deep, refreshing, peaceful, sleep that had been absent from my life for so long.
As the years have passed, my much used (and abused) body has continued to age, but I know now that pain is not a natural state for me to live in, and the good doctor (for that is what he is) continues to improve the quality of my life. Thanks to his gifts, skill and continued ministry to me, I am able to live pain free most of the time. I say, "Thank you, God, for Dr. Sweet!"

For the past 7 months I have received care from Dr. Sweet and since I started care, I have noticed a great improvement in my health. For starters, I was suffering from frequent severe migraine headaches and since Dr. Sweet's care, I have not even felt what some would call a common mild headache. Also the chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) has improved greatly.
Prior to this I had never visited a chiropractor due to ignorance on my part of what this practice was all about. After my experience I refer others to him and tell my story to those that have noticed a difference in my every day activity levels.

I would like everyone to know my story – how Dr. Sweet has been able to relieve my pain from a serious car accident.
In 1997 I was a passenger in a car violently slammed from behind. Since that day, I’ve had serious neck and back pain, as well as severe headaches.
My treatment through the years went from occasional medication to constant use of painkillers, muscle relaxers, and anti-inflammatory. After giving up on these, I went through a regimen of trigger points and painful injections.
Still suffering pain, my landlord encouraged me to go see Dr. Sweet. By this time I was ready to try anything as long as it didn’t involve needles!
At Dr. Sweet’s, x-rays proved that my neck was not holding my head up properly, and with that knowledge I stopped taking trigger points injections. Instead, I have been going to get adjusted three times a week. Well, the good news is that my headaches are way better, my arms and legs have better flexibility and sensation, and I am not taking as many pain pills. I can move my neck from side to side, so I can finally turn my head to see behind me in the car.
Additionally, Dr. Sweet adjusts my feet, and as a waitress, this has made a world of difference. I can enjoy my work day all the way through thanks to these adjustments!
I am grateful to my landlord, Mr. Allan for referring me to Dr. Sweet. Ever since then, my all around quality of life has improved 100%! I am now on the path of getting my body back in touch with itself –it’s really, really working and I am so thankful!
